Hammamet is located around a bay with the same name, developed around its fishing port, was transformed into a summer resort for the international jet set and maintains its picturesque medieval citadel.
The extraordinary thing is that although the temple itself as seaside tourism in Tunisia, preserves a timeless grace, thanks to the wonderful state of preservation of its Medina, situated near the bay, and the fact that most of the big resorts have been installed the sea, but away from the historic center.
WHY GO?
Yasmine Hammamet, a megacomplexo located along the coast, 15 minutes from the old town. It has 44 hotels, of 1500 meters on the sidewalk, along with cafes, restaurants, shops and art galleries.
In the center of Hammamet medina do not miss the beautiful, overlooking the sea where you can find in the narrow whitewashed lanes come and go tea shops and gift shops and crafts.

ORIENTATION
Hammamet the first tourist destination in Tunisia is located southeast of the peninsula of Cap belonging to Good Nabeual, northern Gulf of Hammamet.
WHEN TO GO
Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters. It is best to visit in the spring, between mid-March to mid-May, with warm but not hot.
HOW TO GET THERE
There are regular flights to and from all over Europe but there are no direct flights to America, Asia or Oceania.
The nearest airport is the international airport of Carthage in Tunis. Hence it is possible to catch a train, bus or taxi to the city of Hammamet which is 60km.
GETTING AROUND
Walking through the city is the best way to see the locations of the old town. If you need to do a more extensive course prefer taxis, buses or rent a car.
TAXIS
For travel throughout the city taxis are a good option, are available and cheap. Make sure the meter is turned on when you enter the taxi fare or a chord with the taxi driver before you start!
BUS
Buses are a little old but still offer enough access in and out of town. Furthermore it is a great place to gather information on transportation, hotels, restaurants and places to visit.
CAR HIRE
The rental car agencies can be found at the airport and downtown, although prices are not very friendly.
TIPS
Take a camel's back!
Go to a souk, which sells crafts from around the country: tapestries, clothing, leather goods, jewelry and essences can be purchased here at a price that their bargaining power permits. Learn here the true art of haggling!
MONEY
The currency is the Tunisian dinar. Currently 1 Tunisian Dinar = € 0.80 approx. It is recommended to take euros or dollars that can be converted into Tunisian dinars in banks, exchange houses from the airport and the hotel reception at the official rate of the day, published by the Central Bank of Tunisia. The export dinars is prohibited. Right outside the country can only be converted to euros 30% of all dinars previously converted to a maximum of 100 dinars. For this reason, you should always keep proof of the exchange made.
